Pan card  is an important ID proof which provides you with your Permanent account number. It is recognized by the  Indian Income Tax Department.  Every individual is required to have his own PAN which is a unique number. Although not necessary  to have it but to engage in large financial transactions or to file income tax returns your PAN is a must. If you engage in any deposit above Rs. 50000 like buying a house or any asset PAN serves as an valid ID proof. Owning a PAN card makes it easier to get yourself eligible as  an applicant for any desired loan.

How do I get my PAN

Step1 :

Getting the form

Download the application form from the official website



Passport size photographs

To attach with the above  form you are needed with two passport size recent photographs.



Filling the form

Fill the form with the necessary details and write the designation of the concerned officer and his code. The form is submittable at  IT  PAN service centre in your town as mentioned on the website.



Your identity proof :

Take any one of the below listed documents for identification.

  • Bank pass book
  • Passport
  • Voter’s id
  • Driving license
  • Water bill
  • Graduate degree
  • Passing board certificate
  • Ration card


Your resident proof:  

There is also the requirement  of your address proof.  Take any one of the proof from  the list given below.

  • Electricity bill
  • Water bill
  • Gas bill
  • Telephone bill
  • Bank pass book
  • Credit card
  • Driving license


Step 4:  Submission

The above filled form has to be submitted at the mentioned IT PAN service centre . During submission a fee of rs.65/- is charged which is the basic service fee.The card is dispatched along with the help details in a letter  and is received in  minimum 15 days from its dispatch.

Note:  Don’t forget to verify the details after the receiving your PAN, In case of any error read the guidelines mentioned in the letter along with PAN Card.
