Pan card  is an important ID proof which provides you with your Permanent account number. Step1 :

Getting the form

Download the application form from the official website http://www.incometaxindia.gov.in/.

 

Step2:

Passport size photographs

To attach with the above  form you are needed with two passport size recent photographs.

 

Step3:

Filling the form

Fill the form with the necessary details and write the designation of the concerned officer and his code. The form is submittable at  IT  PAN service centre in your town as mentioned on the website.

Step 4:  Submission

The above filled form has to be submitted at the mentioned IT PAN service centre . During submission a fee of rs.65/- is charged which is the basic service fee.The card is dispatched along with the help details in a letter  and is received in  minimum 15 days from its dispatch.

Note:  Don’t forget to verify the details after the receiving your PAN, In case of any error read the guidelines mentioned in the letter along with PAN Card.

Steps to check PAN card status

    1. Goto the address given Above.
    2. Select the button of Status track for PAN application.
    3. Select application Type.
    4. Have the 15 Digit Acknowledgement Number – which was given to you at the time of application – ready.
    5. Enter the Name (General mistake in PAN application is that surname is given in first name and vice versa. Surname column is Must; if your name is of one word only then fill it in surname. Suppose if your name is Pam and this is your first name even then to know PAN number fill it in surname).
    6. Fill date of Birth (DOB) in dd-mm-yyyy format .Use – as separator and don’t use (/) backslash, (.) Dot or (_) underscore.
    7. Click Submit.
