All and sundry knows that Pan card is now also available in e-PAN card format too. Both new and existing PAN card users can easily download their e-PAN from both govt. sites; either from NSDL (National Securities Depository Limited) or UTIITSL (UTI Infrastructure Technology And Services Limited) website. All new PAN card applicants can receive their e-PAN through emails. With these facilities, we can now quickly check pan card status online with the same service providing sites.
After the digitization in our country, the Income-tax department initiated e-PAN for new and existing holders of physical PAN card.
What is e-PAN?
e-PAN is a part of digitization in India and it can be downloaded in the form of PDF. The e-PAN card, containing a photograph and signature of PAN card holder apart from Permanent Account Number (PAN), name, father’s name/mother’s name, date of birth, etc. is sent to the PAN applicant on the email id mentioned in the PAN card application form.
It also includes an intensified QR code in a physical manner. The QR code contains demographic as well as biometric (scanned photos and signatures) information of the PAN cardholders. Using the PAN QR Code Reader app, the QR code can be used for PAN verification purposes in offline mode also.
How to download e-PAN for New users
While applying for New PAN card, you will get an automatically generated email on your registered email id mentioned in the application form. This new service comes up with free of cost when you apply for a physical PAN card by Paying ₹107.
With the help of KYC, now e-PAN can be easily downloaded within 10 minutes after you apply for the PAN card from the service provider’s websites.
How can old PAN cardholder download e-PAN?
Both service provider websites “UTI and NSDL” provides an option of downloading e-PAN. They put some nominal each time you want to download e-PAN from their websites. The charges are, however, applicable only if your PAN was not allotted during the last 30 days.
For requests received after one month of fresh issuance of their e-PANs, all users will have to make an online payment of ₹8.26 (inclusive of taxes) against every download of their e-PAN through the service provider’s website.
