How to easily make a PAN Card ?

The PAN card website is designed by the NSDL Technology, Trust & Reach. The Permanent Account number website is managed and updated the Income Tax department of the government. All the Data uploaded on this website is official and provided by the government themselves.

The website provides the following services to the visitors:

  • New PAN for Indian Citizens (Form 49A)

  • New PAN for Indian Citizens (Form 49AA)

  • Change or Correction in PAN Details

New PAN for Indian citizen

This form should be used when the applicant has never applied for a PAN or does not have PAN allotted to him. An applicant can visit Income Tax Department (ITD) website to find whether a PAN has been allotted to him or not. The is the simple way to apply for the PAN card.

For New PAN applications, in case of Individual and HUF applicants if Address for Communication is selected as Office, then Proof of Office Address along with Proof of residential address is to be submitted to NSDL w.e.f. applications made on and after 1st November 2009.

  • Two Stamp Size Photographs

  • Proof of Identity

  • Proof of Address

 

Steps Required

STEP 1

Fill an online application form for PAN Card

  • New PAN for Indian Citizens Form 49A (click here for instruction).

  • New PAN for Indian Citizens Form 49AA (click here for instruction).

Make an online payment using a

  • Credit Card

  • Debit Card

  • Internet Banking

STEP 2

  1. Print Application form & paste stamp size photographs

  2. Sign & Attach Photocopies of your ID & Address Proof

STEP 3

Send original signed application and copy of

ID and Address Proof to:

Changes / Correction in PAN details

Who can apply?

This online form is applicable to individuals who are citizens of India and are residing in India, and when data associated with a PAN card (like Name of Applicant / Father’s Name / Date of Birth / Address) requires change or correction, an application for change can be made. A new PAN card with the same PAN number is issued and correct data is updated in the Income Tax Department database.

When should I apply for changes/correction in PAN card?

In any of the below-mentioned situations, you can apply for correction in PAN card data

  • If there is a minor correction in spelling or expansion of initials in the applicant’s or father’s name

  • If there is a significant change in the applicant’s name or father’s name

  • If there is a mismatch in Date of Birth or Signature or Photo or Address or AADHAAR Number

  • If there is a change of Residence or Office Address

  • If photograph on the PAN card is not clear

  • If you desire to update AADHAAR number

  • If you have more than one PAN card and you want to surrender it.

Reprint of PAN card

A person can apply for a re-issue of PAN card if it is Lost or Damaged. This online form is applicable to individuals who are citizens of India and are residing in India.

How to apply for a re-issue of PAN card in case it is Lost or Damaged?

  • Fill our online form and make payment.

  • Print application form and paste photographs.

  • Send signed application along with supporting documents to PAN Services.

Documents required

  • Two Stamp Size Photographs

  • Proof of Issuance of PAN card (click here to view list)

  • Proof of Identity

  • Please attach photocopy of proof of identity if there is any change in identity compared to previous details submitted to Income Tax Department

  • Proof of Address

  • Please attach photocopy of proof of address if there is any change in address compared to previous details submitted to Income Tax Department

 

Transaction Status Inquiry:

This facility can be used if you have made the payment for the online application through Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking. As per RBI guidelines, the entities making e-commerce transactions are required to provide PIN (Personal Identification Number) while executing an online transaction. Accordingly, before making payment for online PAN/TAN applications using credit card / debit card / net banking, please ensure that the PIN is obtained from your respective Banks.

Using this feature, you can:

  • Track the status of your application by mentioning transaction number which is displayed on screen at the time of application.

  • Change the mode of payment to Cheque or Demand Draft, if the payment through credit card / debit card / net banking has been unsuccessful.

  • Regenerate & print the acknowledgement receipt within 30 days of the date of online application.

 

Status Track for PAN application:

You can track the status of your application for new PAN / reprint of PAN card / Changes or Correction in PAN details using the 15 digit unique Acknowledgment Number after three days of application using this facility.
