PAN card (Permanent Account number card) is unique alphanumeric combination fifteen digits issued to all juristic entities of India to maintain the money balance. There are certain requirements when we apply for the PAN Card. The details of the same are given below which involves the proof of identity for PAN Cards and such.
The PAN CARD (PERMANENT ACCOUNT NUMBER CARD) card is issued by the Indian Income Tax Department under the supervision of the Central Board for Direct Taxes (CBDT) and it is also serves as the justified and important proof for the entity identity. The PAN card (Permanent Account Number Card) is Individual and other HUF applicants who happen to be citizens of India and located within India at the time of submitting application for PAN card (permanent account number card).
Citizen of India
The individual with PAN card should submit any one of the following that will serve as valid address proof.
- Electricity bill
- Telephone bill
- Depository account statement
- Credit card statement, bank account statement
- Rent receipt
- Employer certificate
- Ration card
- Passport
- Voter’s identity card
- Property tax assessment order
- Driving license
- Certificate of address signed by a Member of Parliament or member of legislative assembly
- Municipal Council or a gazette officer
The proof of the address should not be older than 6 months and registered by the authorities. The full name of the applicant should be mentioned on the Documents being submitted for the PAN card (permanent account number card) application to verify the address proof. In case the PAN card (permanent account number card) applicant is a minor, any of the above documents of any one of the parents or guardian of such minor shall serve as proof of address. These addresses proves are stored by the Income Tax Department to check up on the user profile and to avoid fake registration.
In case PAN card (permanent account number card) Application is made on behalf of a HUF, any of the above documents in respect of Karta of the HUF will serve as proof of address. It is mandatory for individuals and HUF to mention their residential address on the PAN card (permanent account number card) application and to submit valid proof of the same.
Citizens of India residing outside the country
Citizens of India residing outside the country at the time of application of PAN card (permanent account number card) need to submit the following proves and verify their identity-

c) Copy of NRE bank account statement
Foreign citizens residing in INDIA
Foreign citizens residing in India at the time of application for PAN card (permanent account number card) copy should submit one of the following-

Copy of Person of Indian Origin(PIO) card issued by Government of India
Copy of NRE bank account statement**
Copy of Visa application to Indian authorities and
Copy of Visa granted and
Copy of appointment letter/contract from Indian Company and
Certificate (in original) of Indian address issued by employerNote: If the applicant has provided an Indian office address, then all the following five documents are mandatory along with any of the first six above mentioned documents:-
